I love a listicle. I love a recommendation. Show me your favorite things and I will click on every. single. link.
My newsletter obsession started in 2017 (or 2018?) when I subscribed to JULES, a newsletter which ironically is written by a woman who hosted the apartment party where I met my fiancé! My friend was her roommate, which is how I ended up there in the first place. So, thank you to her! For the newsletter…and the life partner.
Her newsletter was the first place I truly got in DEEP with recommendations. While I’m usually a consumer of these recommendations (do the heavy lifting for me, please), every now and then I like to get in the mix and share a few things that have been changing my life for the better. And with it being peak fall season, I have a few cozy-favorites that I feel I must share.
Ladies and everyone, behold, a listicle:
This Oversized Denim Shirt - This is a heavier shirt, think of it more as a chore coat (which are all the rage with male chefs these days….because boys). But I love layering it over a t-shirt for a not-too-hot, not-too-cold situation. I bought a size M.
Dieux Baptism Gel Cleanser - I trust everything Charlotte Palermino says, but WOW she outdid herself with this one. I’ve adopted using this and the Instant Angel in the morning and doing my more intense routine at night. Somehow this bundle both depuffs my face, moisturizes, and makes me feel generally glowy. Which in the cold months is hard! to! do! The key is to apply Instant Angel on damp skin - it also just feels phenomenal.
The Perf-Hi Heel - In the fall I struggle for a heel that’s not a bootie, something that keeps my feet warm but also looks polished and doesn’t need tights. I’m too much of a mess for tights. Their shelf life with me is like 48 hours, tops. This heel is perfect. I guess that comes with the name.
The Projector! - We finally took the leap and got a projector for our living room and it is the best thing. After being gaslit into thinking we needed to spend thousands of dollars for a crispy-image projector, we found this one and the quality is worth the investment. It also can run for two hours unplugged, so it’s great for backyard movie nights.
And on the sillier side, I just discovered this youtube series and it makes me so happy.
Wait, I thought this was a recipe newsletter
It is! And I’m doing one new recipe a week as we move towards my cookbook publication date! Thank you so much to everyone who has pre-ordered. If you haven’t pre-ordered yet, please consider doing so here.
This week’s recipe is Cumin Braised Chickpeas with Roasted Squash. A creamy, filling recipe that is the perfect way to use that one luxury squash you picked up at the market. Koginut squash? Fits perfectly! Honeynut squash? You only need one!
And this will make four big servings with enough protein, carbs and fat to keep you sustained, because I care about you! I love dessert but I also love healthy dinners.
The full recipe can be accessed here.
Now enjoy the rest of your Saturday. Eat big soups and have bonfires. Take pics of your dog in the leaves. If you bake something cool tell me about it. Stay warm, stay cozy.
Xoxo,
Listicle_Snacks
