Hi and happy Super Bowl Day! Technically I should be afraid to say “Super Bowl” because it’s trademarked, but the newsletter is a day late this week so I’m living fearlessly. And I’m sorry for the delay, but after last week’s sneak peek of the Sweet Potato Cake, my other feeds are a bit behind the newsletter, and I needed to give them a chance to catch up. So now we’re back up to speed! But with no Super Bowl recipes in sight (except for this one last week, which goes great with wings tbh).
This week was one of my busiest, but one of the best. I never realize how few people I talk to in a week until it’s replaced with a week where I talk to nearly everyone. Monday/Tuesday I finished shooting that very-important-thing-we-don’t-talk-about at the most stunning location in Brooklyn. Then Wednesday I filmed my sweet potato manifesto using the remainder of my six-pound sweet potato (it was from Farm to People, its a whole thing). Thursday I got to see one of my closest friends get married (!!) and Friday gave me the day to fully develop a recipe I’ve been thinking about for weeks. When I write it out - it wasn’t too crazy, but I’m still feeling a bit comatose. But I’m still excited to share the week’s recipes with you!

How to make crispy sweet potatoes - I have fought with sweet potatoes for years. I have roasted them dry, roasted them par-boiled, smashed them, crusted them, dusted them, etc. All to have the crunch be short lived. Turns out, I was just roasting the wrong potatoes. Thank you science, for keeping me humble.
Feta Dumplings with Pine Nut Fresno Sauce - These tender little dumplings are my answer to “what should we cook for Valentine’s Day?” They’re simple, delicate, and fresh-pasta-esque without needing the space to roll out fresh pasta. I also just love the flavors in this one. I’m testing it out with a GF flour today!
