Apparently Broadway in Nashville & Broadway in New York are different things
Plus, pizza and cocktails!
Hi from down south! (am I down south?)
But hi from Nashville! A city I’ve never been to before, and a place I’m very excited to visit for a little long weekend. We’re being hosted by friends who may or may not be interested in convincing us to move here - and since we all know how I feel about warm-weather states, I am getting very invested in Nashville Hot Tofu. Thank you to everyone who sent me recs last week, I passed them along to our hostess and she confirmed you all know what you are talking about ;) Also! Today I learned that “love a good Broadway” means something entirely different in Nashville vs. New York. But I love a good Broadway in both capacities, so I might be found among 20-30 Bachelorette parties this Saturday night. Which in that case, pray for me.
Now for the food this week - as I mentioned in last week’s letter, this week is going to be a bit lighter on content. That’s because I post different videos to different platforms, so I’ve had to flip flop my videos to make sure all my platforms are up to speed. Which (since you all are always the first to know) leaves us with only two new recipes this week, but both are perfect for summer! And perfect for making in Nashville, we’ve come full circle.
The weekly round-up!
Tomato, Kale & Ricotta Toast - little dreamy cherry tomatoes have hit my farmer’s market and I could not be happier. And yes, this is essentially pizza toast, but with a ton of veg and few tricks for extra flavor.
Strawberry Paper Planes! - Ok ok, according to my public polling, The Hugo Spritz is going to be the drink of the summer….but I’ll still be drinking the Paper Plane. Four ingredients, subtly sweet, and just perfect.
And lastly, a little sponcon note. After seeing it in my videos a ton, I finally got to work with Graza Olive Oil! If you’ve ever been interested in testing them out, I have a $5 off coupon with the code JUSTINESNACKS. I am not contracted to put this in here, but in case it’s helpful, here it is!
(I’m consistently baffled by the support you all give my sponsorships and the trust you put in my recommendations. I GET CHEESY, BUT I’M SO GRATEFUL.)
Ok, now off to go to McDougal’s for hot chicken and the Nashville Farmer’s Market, which I’ve heard is phenomenal :)
Until next week,
DownSouth_Snacks
