Good morning! This week I learned I enjoyed seeing this kitchen, but really hate minimalist architecture (so chilly!), and also got down with hearing about some niche rooster drama. I’m not in the market to own hens, but if I was, this would be helpful zoning info.
I also decided to really lean into what I was craving this week. Which is hard, especially when you’re feeling particularly uninspired. I love cooking seasonally, I really do. It’s totally changed the way I think about food. But DAMN. APRIL. PLEASE THROW A GIRL A (GREEN) BONE. Or just anything to get my brain working? I don’t know, I’m going to the farmers’ market today and will report back.
But the good thing about the stipulation of “cravings” (which is such a good title, but also so Chrissy Teigan coded it’s impossible to think of anything else), is that it brings out a few really great recipes! So eat with me this week, because the weekly round-up is basically just that:
The weekly round-up!
Gochujang Brothy Beans - Gochujang is back in my house and better than ever. This is one of my true comfort meals, and ultimate cravings. PLUS it takes nearly no time to make. We love a canned bean for that.
Small Date Treats - there is a LOT of date content out there (we love to see it), but I hadn’t seen this version yet!
Arugula Orzo with Feta, Lemon & Mint - A simple but delicious arugula sauce. Sometimes greens just don’t want to be messed with, you know? (Also someone commented on YouTube that they’ve been making this for years, just without the arugula. And for that….I have questions.)
Hot Honey & Goat Cheese Upside-Down Hand Pies - ok, this one is a more fun one (and we love fun!). Someone worried that the inside of the pies will “steam,” which is exactly why I don’t crimp the edges. It make make them look a little funkier, but it gives the interior vegetables some air to caramelize.
And that’s it for this week and all of my cravings! And thank you for your support last week for my cookbook, which you can still pre-order here! (Has your mom gotten a copy yet? We should get your mom a copy.)
Again, I appreciate you to the ends of the world, and I’m excited to see you next week.
Xoxo,

Nothing better than those dates!!!
I feel you!! I am beyond ready for the fresh produce of summertime. Give me some juicy tomatoes and some cherries, please for the love of God.
