Not every week is a market week

But the food is always market-style food!

Hi! I’m coming at you having watched four episodes of Bridgerton in one night, so I’m feeling great. I’m also coming at you with a slight cold…which feels like a very 5th grade problem for me and I simply will not stand for it!! JK. I will stand for it because I have to until it leaves my body. Send good thoughts, please.

But with an under-the-weather week comes recipes that are super easy to eat and even easier to make. A different kind of comfort food. Because yes, cucumbers soothe me.

I flew back from LA last week on a Friday night redeye fully expecting to get off the plane and run to the farmers’ market with no bags under my eyes, but unfortunately, my eyes were bigger than my jet lag. But even without a farmers’ market run (which are not necessary to good food!), there was a lot of inspiration to be had this week. I wanted something that was filling, hydrating, crisp and healthy-feeling, and I also wanted something that I could grab and snack on (with Bridgerton energy, of course). Both are in the recipe round-up this week, and both hit a different kind of craving. Next week I hope to have even more ideas for you, and maybe a few house pics? If we're into that??

Cucumber Toasts with Edamame Spread - in my never ending quest to get you to eat your vegetables, this all-green toast just might make you fall in love with them. Raspberry Muffins with Basil Syrup - (**and rose water? If you’re into that?) In the video I use rose water, but in the recipe I call for vanilla extract. It’s dealer’s choice, and you won’t make a mistake either way.

And it’s a small week this week, but you can tell from my notes we have more things coming down the pipeline. But in the meantime, I hope either of these recipes will make your week’s cooking list!
