Oats and three different tomato recipes
Plus how my apartment painting turned out....it's giving *corn*
I really need to stop writing these from carpeted floors. But here I am! This time it’s in my apartment though, and it’s because I just decided to paint my bedroom the color “Tuscan Bread.” The accent wall is finished, but our furniture is still all over the place. And I’m already debating if I should repaint it…. it didn’t come out the light tan I anticipated. It’s more yellow?……….it’s *corn*
Now after that scintillating life recap - let’s get into the newsletter!
This week’s round-up
Almond butter topped cacao overnight oats, basically my answer to if Ben & Jerry’s “Topped” flavors were breakfast, recipe here, video here.
Tomato & peach pasta, so simple, so good, and maybe my favorite recipe of the summer? Recipe here, video here.
Sheetpan pizza - Recipe for the crust here, recipe for the sauce here, video with less ~classic~ elements here.
Melon & tomato salad with cilantro nước chấm, my love letter to the last of summer produce <3 Recipe here, video here.
And favorites!
Honestly, my favorite thing right now is reading Carina Wolff’s (@kalememaybe) favorites. The woman can mention literally anything I will buy it. On that list of “anything” already includes sunglasses and a carpet. I can’t be tamed. You can find her favorites when she publishes them on Good Mood Food!
And I can’t talk about painting my apartment without talking about my Everlane overalls. I found them almost a year ago from vlogger Lindsay Rem and they’ve recently made a resurgence in my closet and GOD BLESS. The fit is perfect, they don’t make you look frumpy or boxy, and they have the perfect level of slouch in them. This might just be a me thing because I film and cook all day, but I could live in them. Art teacher chic!
And my last favorite - Spoak! An interior design website that allows you to make mood boards, store products, easily make floor plans and renderings of your space, and get inspo from others. I’m knee-deep in redecorating my apartment and this feels like a godsend. I LOVE IT. I’m still in my free-trial honeymoon phase, and after 7 days it becomes $14.99/month. It’s a decent amount for an app, but compared to the price of hiring an interior designer? I’ll take it.
Now back to looking at my apartment wall and seeing if I need to repaint it…..
Until next time!
Xoxo,
Snacks
I just want to say that I literally have one week a day dedicated to “Food like Justine”. My world would literally crash if anything were to happen to this loving pistachio-sage-ish green space.
