All the Texts I Got While "Butter Board" was Going Viral
Plus a beet cake, a sungold tomato confit, and a question for you!
Ok just kidding - this will not be all the texts I got about butter board, because then this newsletter would be a small novella. But I like to look back at last week’s newsletter and think of what a pure time it was. Butter board was not even close to the monster trend it is now, it was just a recipe video included in the weekly round-up. But look at us now! I’m like a proud parent who sent her kid off to college and now he’s a celebrity. Butterbóard Chalamet, an ~overnight sensation~
But don’t get me wrong, I am thrilled Joshua McFadden’s stellar recipe from his book Six Seasons is finally getting the love it deserves….despite the internet having some *spicy* opinions - but who doesn’t love spice!
Ok now onto the weekly round-up, but first, the text I sent my brother when he didn’t know I was the one who created butter board:
The Weekly Round-Up
Agrodolce Cabbage & Chili Delicata Squash - sounds fancy, is easy, my specialty. Video here, recipe here.
Beet Cake! - sounds bizarre, is delicious. Video here, recipe here.
And sungold tomatoes with crispy garlic butter - for the last of your butter board leftovers and the tail end of the season’s tomatoes. Video here, recipe here.
And instead of favorites, a question:
Instead of favorites this week, I actually wanted to put a poll out to you all! Fall is in full swing, but it always feels like we only get a few precious weeks of it before the holiday craze kicks in.
So I wanted to know, what are you interested in cooking this fall? It could be certain produce, certain types of meals (soups, cozy dinners etc.) or techniques you want to try. Let me know, and hopefully I can make a few recipes out of it!
Until next time, send me pics of your butter boards,
Xoxo,
Snacks
Some new takes on fall chilis and soups! I love a good sweet potato chili or butternut squash soup but need some new staples
More easy, cozy dinners for weeknights using squash or pumpkin! Maybe even a pasta dish? Thank you!
