I’m an oats for breakfast, toast at lunch girl...no need to choose when you can have both each day!

I misread this as "Justine for toast, Justine for lentils" and my misreading stands.

After much deliberation and experimentation, I have settled on a smaller bowl of oats and a slice of toast for breakfast. Living proof that you can have it all.

Team Toast all the way (breakfast was Grand Central Bakery sourdough with Metropolitan Market Jalapeno Smoked Salmon spread) and I do actually like burnt tomatoes. My introduction to them is from an Ottolenghi oven roasted tomato-butter-pasta sauce that I cook way down to tomato darkness glory. I'm def making your tomato-lentil recipe this week, and I might just leave out the fish and have it on (you guessed it) toast!

Those tomatoes look delicious! I recently learned you can also slow roast canned tomatoes and I dunno, it’s shifted my works axis a bit. In NZ winter, tomatoes cost like $8 a kg so being able to roast canned is like whoa!

Ahhhh so glad you like them! Ok yes, I usually am 100% a fresh tomatoes girl, but in the winter they are so SO hard to justify. Roasting canned is just *chef's kiss*

I am an oats girl through and through, but as soon as I started making my own bread I started craving toast at every meal. Toast-scoopable oats, perhaps?

Ok oats & toast is an innovation and one I didn't know I needed in my life.

Making tomatoes and lentils this moment. The house smells delicious. And also, a vote for Team Toast. Toast basket? Platter o’toast? Toast with schmear? Yes.

toast is an overall yes, imo. And did you like the lentils?? I hope so!

Loved. Loved. Loved the lentils! Delicious depth and a new accompaniment to some fluke we had gotten from our local guy.

The Biscuits. I made them this weekend - oh. my. lord. My husband told me that those biscuits will surely served in heaven. I have two left and I'm contemplating hiding them.... I've re-warmed them in the air fryer for about 5 minutes and they taste like they were just made. Don't question it - just make them.

I'm wondering if I use gluten free flour, if they will work as well....that will be my next try. (My sister came over for dinner the night that I made them and took one home with her. The next day she told me that she regretted that she didn't take home two.) My family is not easily impressed.....
