I agree completely about White Lotus! In fact I think this season is very well done and very well acted. As in previous seasons it offers a window into the complexity of human nature.
Hi! I feel the exact same way about White Lotus! I almost feel like people are forgetting how much of a slow drip other seasons have been (not this slow. This one is a bit too long and I think if they’d condensed down an episode or two it would feel less like that?) Cautiously hopeful that the finale will be a hit!
Also that salmon looks divine, and I already know I’m cooking the oatmeal this week for my toddler and I!
Love your writing so much Justine! Started following you with your tiktok series turning cafe drinks into desserts and I’ve been hooked ever since! You’re such a a delight!
I love the non-recipe recipes. Cooking everything from scratch is laborious, and I have a full-time plus job + pets + volunteer + have occasional fun. Yet I persist because the good is much, much tastier. I'm a food snob, what can I say? Once you eat like that, you can't go back! So I really need simple, tasty, quality/market ingredient "non-recipes"! More!
Although the recipe development is vastly intriguing and has opened up many doors for me in all that is possible in cooking, the story teller and form of sharing is what makes me come back to you! your audience(at least some of us) is here for the stories you have to tell! whatever the content, even just observing your process of kitchen cleaning was riveting!! so please don’t feel guilt! at least not from this snacks subscriber :)
I'm loving White Lotus and don't get what all the bitching is about. Every season is different, and we were bound to feel the lack of Tanya no matter how this season was written, how many characters it had, or how many episodes the season contained. And Parker Posey is spot-on perfect!
Hi, Justine! I agree about white lotus! I saw the BTS stories you and Eden did yesterday and I believe I saw that you use a cart w a cutting board. Is it the Boos Cucina Culinarte cart?
Please never feel guilty about “not” cooking as I feel you are always inspiring me to get creative in the kitchen! So thank you! This is the first season I’ve watched White Lotus and I’ve enjoyed most of it! I didn’t know what to expect and loved Parker Posey!
I honestly was so surprised, as I'm entering my substack era, to see you on here because I know how much work it is to make video content and you slay at that! I'm sure we would all be happy to have even one post once in awhile. :)
Don’t feel bad! I love that your voice comes through in your writing, and genuinely just enjoy reading what you’re up to. And like others have said, heck yes to a non-recipe recipe! It gives us freedom to play.
I felt the same way about White Lotus! It's been fine, which I think really highlights how great the first two seasons have been. The ending felt too neat.
I have to try that cobbler-style Oatmeal ASAP. I've eaten your Sticky Date Pudding Overnight Oats every morning with Greek Yoghurt for like.. 3 months, and I honestly look forward to it when I fall asleep at night + the promise of it makes me get through my morning excercises. It's a magic recipe, Justine.
Also.. while i'm here, next week I go to Hong Kong, South Korea, and Tokyo. On the offchance you might have travelled to these places and have any food tips. I'd love to hear them!
THANK YOU. I don't get all the White Lotus hate this season either. Where people expecting an action movie? There's been tons of character development every episode. I have been riveted.
I am intrigued by Mill. I have held off buying any of the other home composters because they all require a subscription to enzymes or something, so I like that this is self-reliant. But question: does that top drying and grinding chamber get dirty and gross after a while? Do you clean it out every day?
I clean it out every 3 weeks or so! It takes me about 3-4 weeks to fill it up and the clean is not that laborious at all. It’s kind of like wiping dry coffee grinds out of a grinder!
I haven’t had the energy for full recipes lately so I’m HERE for the non-recipe recipes 👏🏻

Mill has changed the waste game at our house! 10 out of 10!

I've had my eye on the Mill. Glad to hear you're liking it!

That sounds much easier than I imagined!
