ACOTAR fan here! I just read Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, so great! The next book comes out in November, a reminder that sometimes we have to be a little patient for the really awesome things! (Like your book hehe!)
Ok SO! I had a sad couple of fennel heads in my fridge so when this recipe came out I knew I had to make it! I’m usually not a butternut squash fan but all of your recipes are so awesome so I picked up a butternut squash at the farmers market and made it tonight for dinner!!!!! Let me tell you! Best butternut squash soup I’ve ever had! The warmth from the nutmeg (I fresh grated which was def a labor of love but worth it) was really well balanced by the onion and the paprika (out of cayenne atm). The fennel salad was giving fennel tzazitki vibes and it added such a fun tang to the soup and it was all so yummy! Thanks so much!
Do you do cooking classes? You have an intuitive way of cooking that is intriguing so I wanted to ask. A friend and I are wanting to visit NYC in January (free time for both of us) and are looking for interesting cooking classes to take. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks--
Hi Pattie - not yet, but I do dream of it one day. It's just a lot to coordinate! I'll reach out to any friends who do workshops and will try to get you some good names :)
Thanks so much---I appreciate your help and thanks for replying. Also, re: your mom b/c your post popped up today in my algorithm, hang in there and focus on the people in your life who love and support you. Let the others go. You're doing great work and you'll be a loving, nurturing mom. It shows. Looking forward to the cookbook. Publishing date is...?
Just finished ACOTAR myself! I think you’d really enjoy the StoryGraph app for keeping track of your reads. Has a lot more graphs and charts and as a data nerd I really love it. Plus it’s not owned by Amazon like goodreads and they’re dedicated to continually making the app better 😊
dang you do love a heavy book! I like heavy too, but much less advanced - like dark and twisty heroines who are really bad people (AKA, A Certain Hunger)
I read the synopsis for this on your Goodreads!! Sounds so riveting. I’ve added to my “to reads!”
Have you read/heard of Margaret Atwood’s “The Edible Woman?” It seems to have some twisty, cannabilstic heroine tones 😂 It’s been on my list for a while!
Harry Potter gives me biiiiiig fall vibes! Babel: An Arcane History by RF Kuang is a great fall read. The Secret History by Donna Tartt is too but I wasn’t a big fan tbh. Others love it tho! And I MUST mention Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree!
I love the idea of slop season! Now is the time for us all to revel in a bolstering bowlful of something that hovers between solid and liquid 😂 Fennel and squash is such a wonderful combination, I myself have been making vatfuls of squash and apple soup using fruits I have foraged from a local community orchard. I shall be buying a fennel bulb imminently!
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue has been my comfort reread for years now!
Detail packed and with such depth on time, love, and inner struggle without having to use all your brain cells to understand what in the world is going on - I love it!
Demon Copperhead is a wonderful read, so long and well-written. The kind of book to get lost in...
This is the best kind of book review - adding it to my list!

Next October! A while to wait, but hopefully worth it :) And thank you for the kind words, it means more than you know.
YES fall and cooking and soup with salad on top, but HAMNET! Such a gorgeous, searing novel. I’m envious of anyone who has it to look forward to!
Ahhhh I can't wait to read it! It'll be my kindle splurge
Just finished tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, and Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Super enjoyed both! 💙
I still have to finish Tomorrow & tomorrow & tomorrow, it's on my shelf just LOOKING at me lol
I hope you start on it soon. I think it’s by far my favorite read of 2023. 🥰

Oooo good to know!
Absolutely love Goodreads! Hamnet is a great book as well!
I can't wait to read it - it's not next, but next next :)
I love a heavy book or a series for fall. Last year, it was Anna Karenina and LOTR. The year before I ate up the His Dark Materials Trilogy!

Now I want to re-read HP but I don't own any copies and refuse to buy....</3
You could try the library! I want to buy it secondhand in hardback in good condition which is tough to find lol
Babel is the best!
